I'm Staci Hubbard, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and my preferred pronouns are she/her/hers. I came to counseling from a career in public education as a special educator and school administrator. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Colorado and a Masters of Education from Texas State University. I have extensive experience working with students with disabilities. I have always had a passion for working with individuals and their families. I’ve been told that I naturally address problems and interactions with students and families from a counseling perspective. I returned to school, earning a Master of Arts in Counseling from The Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest.
I have worked in a variety of counseling settings. As a student support counselor in an elementary school, I met with groups of students, taught specific lessons, connect with parents, and engage with students on an individual basis. As a therapist in a mental health clinic (Burke) in East Texas, I met with individuals, couples, and families using the Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) approach to create treatment plans, provide services, and assess progress. I provided group therapy experiences for clients admitted to the Mental Health Emergency Center (MHEC). I also had the opportunity work in the non-profit Safe Place Family Shelter providing therapy for children, teens, adults, and families.
In private practice, I work with adults, adolescents, children, parents, families, and groups within the following specialty areas: anxiety, couples/partners/relationship issues, depression, grief and loss, life changes and transitions, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), trauma, self – esteem, self/sexual identity, and social issues.
I would love to have the opportunity to visit with you about your unique challenges and how we might be able to work together to bring happiness, satisfaction, and balance into your life. I am here to listen and to work collaboratively with you to support you in overcoming challenges and obstacles you may be facing.
